Begin with Prayer, then read Philippians 4:6-8

 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

  • Read the Scripture again to yourself then share a word, phrase, or sense that touches you.

  • Listen to the Reflection or Read the Script.

Simply use the questions below as starters to guide sharing.
  • What struck you most from the reflection?

  • When you hear ‘trust in the slow work of God’ what comes to mind?

  • Share a transition time when the old was gone and the new not yet clear. How did you feel and what was the eventual outcome? What did you learn about God and yourself?

  • Change is constant. Do you naturally embrace change or react with fear? Why?

  • What voices are you influenced by at present? How do you discern the fruits of the Spirit in them?

Pray with each other then conclude with this Prayer

God of Peace, Today I choose not to be anxious about the changes around me,

instead in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I present my requests to You.

 May Your divine peace, which transcends human understanding, guard my heart and mind.

 Despite the storms of change pressing against us, we pray that Your peace keeps us calm so we may be Your instruments of mercy and grace each day.

 May Your peace destroy anxiety within me and renew my mind so that my life gives glory to you alone.

 May I be a bearer of light in the darkness to carry the hope of Christ wherever I go.   

 Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Peace, ask Jesus to give me the gift of peace;

His peace in my heart, mind and soul.

 Mary guide us in the way of your Son and pray that like you,

we may place our total trust in God’s hands each day.  Amen.
