Kia Ora Lay Marists, Marian Mothers & friends,

Auckland Marist Laity hosted a Marist family Mass and shared lunch in our new premises in

Ponsonby at the beginning of October. (See pictures below) Fr Chris Skinner SM was our

celebrant and he used the chalice that once belonged to St Peter Chanel – a beautiful taonga to

have in our midst on the day. It was wonderful to have the space to enjoy with those who

attended, and we plan to host more activities in 2023.

Prayer & Blessings from Fr Chris, and Margaret

At the end of September, eight of the Marian Mothers in the Tawa-Titahi Bay group

enjoyed a weekend retreat at El Rancho Waikanae, that they themselves organised.

The group appreciated the opportunity and enjoyed their shared time together.

These photos below were taken at Our Lady of Kapiti Church where the group attended

Mass and reconciliation, and at the cafe on the final day. Ka pai!

Council of the Society Rome 2022

During the month of October the leaders of the districts and provinces have been gathered for the General Council of the Society of Mary in Rome, Italy. The meeting takes place in a    synodal spirit of common discernment on the past and the present developments in the Society, and the imagination of its future with the sights set clearly on the 2025 General Chapter.

Pope Francis’s Prayer Intention for November

Children Who Suffer

We pray for children who are suffering,

especially those who are homeless, orphans,

and victims of war; may they be guaranteed

access to education and the

opportunity to experience family affection.
