Begin with Thanksgiving and Prayer, then read Isaiah 62:2-5
The nations shall see your vindication and all the kings your glory;
and you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will give.
You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no more be termed Forsaken,
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate;
but you shall be called My delight is in her, and your land Married;
for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.
For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you
Read the Scripture again to yourself, then share a word, phrase or sense that touches you.
Listen to the Reflection or Read the Script.
Let Marists always bear in mind, that they belong by a gracious choice, to the family of the Blessed Mary, Mother of God. In her name they are called Marists.”

What struck you most from the reflection ?
Can you think of instances in the Bible where new names are given to affirm mission?
Why was your name chosen, or your children’s?
What about your Confirmation name? What significance does bearing the Saint’s name have for you?
What are some ways you respond in daily life to our call to care for the earth?
Pray with and for each other then conclude with this prayer
O Mary, my Queen…
I give into your sacred keeping and commend
to your special care and protection
my body and soul
for this day and all the days of my life.
To you I commit
my hopes and consolations,
my difficulties and sorrows,
my life and death,
that through your intercession
and your merits all my actions may be directed
and disposed according to your will and to the will of your Son.
